Klamath Basin Behavioral Health (KBBH) is a private, non-profit corporation established in 1980 as a child and family mental health clinic. It was originally organized by local community leaders and officials whose intent was to establish a county-wide resource where children with mental health and behavioral disorders could receive child-specific, state-of-the-art, family-focused treatment. To this end KBBH has become the largest and most significant provider of private and public mental health care for children and families in this region. On July 22, 2013 with only 10 days notice, our organization was named the new Community Mental Health Program for Klamath County. By August 1st we had doubled our staff, our scope of responsibility, and the number of programs we were operating. We now are providing a complete comprehensive array of services to adults, children, adolescents, and their families.
KBBH delivers behavioral health care services under fee for service agreements with a variety of different private health plan providers, and we offer sliding scale fees and reduced fee agreements if necessary. Many of our services are funded under various contracts with funding organizations such as the Klamath County Commission on Children and Families, the Juvenile Crime Commission, Department of Human Services, as well as various private foundations. Under contract with the Cascade Comprehensive Care, KBBH delivers adult, child and family behavioral health care to adult, children and adolescents in Klamath County who are eligible for the Oregon Health Plan. KBBH holds a Certificate of Approval from Oregon’s Department of Human Services for Community Treatment Services for Children, another for Intensive Treatment Services for Children, and is a State Licensed Child Care Agency.
